TENORM Radiological Control Technician – Part Time/Seasonal

This is a SEASONAL position.

We are excited to announce openings at our Amherst, NY office. These openings are offered on a part time or full-time basis to support client projects of varying duration. The work involves the monitoring of construction activities to determine the presence of Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materal (TENORM) typically in the Western NY area.

Candidates should be reliable, mature, detail-oriented, organized and able to work under time constraints in a busy project-oriented environment. Any math or science background a plus. Excellent communication and grammar skills are a must.

Requirements include:

  • Radiological monitoring or environmental experience preferred but not required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and dependable Car/Truck
  • Ability to observe and concisely document and describe field activities
  • Ability to complete forms and generate field sketches
  • Ability to perform calculations such as to record and calculate the average of several numbers
  • Ability to work outside in cold or hot weather
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and walk on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to read and interpret digital and analog displays
  • Willingness to work with and around radioactive materials upon completion of training
  • Ability to pass physical

No experience necessary, training will be provided.

All candidates must have US citizenship or be legally able to work in the United States. Candidates must pass a background check.
